Dr. Sylvia Casas de Leon is a board-certified ophthalmologist who provides comprehensive eye care with a special focus on corneal disease and cataract surgery. She earned a mathematics degree from Rice University, completed medical school at Baylor College of Medicine, and ophthalmology residency at UT Southwestern Medical Center, known for high clinical and surgical volume. She then pursued subspecialty fellowship training in cornea at Columbia University. Dr. Jason Goldberg is an ophthalmologist who focuses on the cornea and ocular surface. He cares for people with conditions such as Fuchs’ dystrophy, keratoconus, corneal infections and ulceration, neurotrophic keratitis, and complex anterior segment problems. In addition to medical management, he offers surgical options tailored to each patient’s goals and visual needs, including modern corneal transplantation techniques (DMEK, DSAEK and PKP), cataract extraction with intraocular lens placement, secondary intraocular lenses and repair of anterior segment trauma. Dr. Bryan Goldman is a board-certified, fellowship-trained ophthalmologist at Commonwealth Eye Care Associates, caring for patients from Henrico and the greater Richmond area. He specializes in corneal and cataract surgery, with a particular interest in helping patients who have complex medical histories safely navigate eye surgery and long-term vision care. Patients appreciate his calm, down-to-earth explanations and the time he takes to answer questions before and after procedures. Dr. Goldman completed both his undergraduate and master’s degrees in neuroscience at Tulane University before earning his medical degree from Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine. He then completed his internship and ophthalmology residency at VCU Health, where he served as Chief Resident and received the 2024 Resident of the Year Award in recognition of his contributions to patients and colleagues. He is now pursuing a cornea fellowship at Commonwealth Eye Care Associates, further refining his surgical and clinical skills.
