Dr. Richard “Reese” Feist is a vitreoretinal surgeon dedicated to protecting and restoring central vision. After ophthalmology residency training, Dr. Feist completed a vitreoretinal fellowship where he gained extensive experience with complex macular surgery, scleral buckling, and modern small-gauge vitrectomy. Cary R. Baxter, MD, is a board-certified ophthalmologist and vitreoretinal surgeon dedicated to restoring and protecting sight with compassionate, individualized care. He provides the full spectrum of medical and surgical retina services, from in-office injections and laser treatments to complex retinal detachment repair. Patients appreciate his calm, team-oriented style and clear explanations of diagnoses and treatment options at each step. Dr. Baxter earned his medical degree at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Medicine, completed an ophthalmology residency at the University of Mississippi, and pursued advanced fellowship training in vitreoretinal surgery at Retina Specialists of Alabama. He has contributed to peer-reviewed publications and remains focused on bringing proven, modern techniques to patients across Alabama. Outside of clinic, Dr. Baxter enjoys time with family and outdoor activities, and he brings that same energy and precision to the operating room and follow-up care.
