About Me
Dr. Gary Ganiban is a retina specialist at Atlantic Retina Consultants, where he provides care for a variety of retinal and vitreous conditions. His expertise includes macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachments, tears, and holes, as well as other disorders of the retina and vitreous. He is board certified in ophthalmology and has extensive fellowship training in diseases and surgery of the retina and vitreous.
Dr. Ganiban has been involved in pioneering treatments for wet macular degeneration, including being among the first retina specialists in the United States to use intraocular Avastin for this condition. He also engages in ophthalmic research and has developed a hands-free scleral depression device known as the Ganihand to improve efficiency in retinal surgery. In addition to his clinical work, he serves as an Adjunct Clinical Professor of Biomedical Engineering at the Florida Institute of Technology, where he continues research on new medical devices.
