Dr. Garrick Chak

Dr. Garrick Chak is a glaucoma specialist who provides individualized medical, laser, and surgical care for patients with all stages of glaucoma. He focuses on pressure control strategies that balance safety, effectiveness, and convenience—ranging from topical therapy to selective laser trabeculoplasty and minimally invasive glaucoma surgery. When cataracts limit vision or affect glaucoma management, he discusses combined procedures to simplify recovery and reduce the burden of drops. Dr. Chak earned his medical degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine & Dentistry, completed ophthalmology residency at the UC Irvine Gavin Herbert Eye Institute, and advanced subspecialty fellowship training in glaucoma at Duke University School of Medicine. He joined the Permanente Medical Group in 2015.
