About Me
Dr. David G. Lotufo is an ophthalmologist specializing in glaucoma and cataract care at Longwood Eye & LASIK Center. He became interested in ophthalmology at a young age, inspired by his father who had retinitis pigmentosa. Witnessing the impact of advanced diagnostic tools, Dr. Lotufo was drawn to a field where technology improves patient outcomes. Today, he is board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma, including medical management and advanced surgical options such as laser trabeculoplasty and tube shunt procedures.
Dr. Lotufo completed a glaucoma fellowship at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary and a residency at the same institution. He earned his medical degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine. His approach to patient care emphasizes thorough explanations and clear communication, helping patients understand their conditions and treatment options. Patients appreciate his calming chairside manner and the time he takes to answer questions.
At Longwood Eye & LASIK Center, Dr. Lotufo provides comprehensive glaucoma management and cataract surgery, including advanced lens implants. He sees patients at the West Springfield office, where he works closely with a dedicated team to support each patient's vision health.
