About Me

Dr. Christopher Chung is a vitreoretinal surgery fellow at the University of Illinois Chicago. He treats the full spectrum of medical and surgical retina disease, including retinal detachment, macular holes and epiretinal membranes, diabetic retinopathy, retinal vascular occlusions, and complications of cataract surgery. His approach emphasizes careful imaging, clear communication, and individualized plans that balance clinic-based treatments with timely surgical care.

Dr. Chung received his MD from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and completed ophthalmology residency at the USC Roski Eye Institute. He also holds a master’s degree in Biology from UC San Diego. During fellowship at UIC, he is refining advanced pars plana vitrectomy techniques and contributing to research and education within a high-volume academic center.
