Dr. Austin Fox

Austin R. Fox, MD, is a glaucoma specialist at UCI Health’s Gavin Herbert Eye Institute who cares for adults with glaucoma and cataracts. He offers comprehensive medical, laser and surgical options, including minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS), glaucoma drainage implants and trabeculectomy, and works closely with patients to choose a plan that fits their vision goals and daily life. He also manages related conditions such as uveitis and provides guidance on home monitoring of intraocular pressure when appropriate.

Dr. Fox earned his medical degree at the University of South Alabama College of Medicine. He completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics, where he also pursued fellowship training in glaucoma following an internal medicine internship. His academic interests include glaucoma screening, health literacy and adherence, and quality improvement. He sees patients in Irvine and Orange.
