Dr. Travis Kimple

Dr. Brian Heiniger is a comprehensive ophthalmologist at Grin Eye Care who cares for patients at the Olathe, Leawood, and Brookside offices. He grew up on a family farm near Fairview, Kansas, and attended Hiawatha High School before earning a degree in kinesiology from Kansas State University. He then completed his medical degree at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and received the J. Donald M. Gass Award for excellence in ophthalmic education and research. Following medical school, he completed an internship at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas. Dr. Heiniger went on to complete his ophthalmology residency at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, serving as both clinic chief and surgery chief resident. At Grin Eye Care, he practices comprehensive ophthalmology with an emphasis on cataract and refractive surgery and manages a wide range of eye conditions, including glaucoma, diabetic eye disease, droopy eyelids, dry eye, and macular degeneration. He enjoys working with patients to find individualized solutions that protect sight and fit their lifestyle. Outside of work, he spends time with his wife, a speech-language pathologist, and their three children, and enjoys sports, exercise, travel, agriculture, and being outdoors. Dr. Michael Libby Mulhern is a board-certified ophthalmologist who provides comprehensive eye care, including cataract surgery, laser procedures, and long-term management of eye disease. He works with patients to protect vision and eye health through clear communication, careful evaluation, and treatment plans tailored to each person’s needs. Dr. Mulhern earned a biochemistry degree from the University of Kansas and completed both his medical degree and a PhD at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. He completed ophthalmology residency training at the University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics. Dr. Mulhern joined Lawrence Eye Care in August 2014 and has cared for patients in the community since then. He is LenSx certified for laser-assisted cataract surgery and has a clinical focus that includes cataract care, glaucoma evaluation and treatment, diabetes-related eye care, and routine comprehensive eye exams.

Dr. Cooper Rodgers is a comprehensive ophthalmologist with a special interest in cataract and refractive surgery. A Kansas City native, he graduated summa cum laude from the University of Florida before earning his medical degree at the University of Kansas, where he was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha. He completed an internship at University of Florida–Shands Hospital and an ophthalmology residency at the University of Florida, caring for veterans and performing refractive surgery for active service members at Naval Air Station Jacksonville. At Grin Eye Care, Dr. Rodgers offers thoughtful, individualized care with an emphasis on clear communication and shared decision-making. He performs cataract surgery—including options designed to reduce dependence on glasses—and provides laser vision correction for suitable candidates. He also manages common eye conditions such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease, and droopy eyelids.
