About Me
Dr. Swarupa Kancherla is a board-certified ophthalmologist and fellowship-trained cornea surgeon who provides care for patients with cataracts, corneal disease, and vision correction needs. Her clinical expertise includes complex cataract surgery, corneal transplantation, refractive surgery, and treatment of dry eye disease. She also offers comprehensive eye care for a range of conditions, including pterygia, glaucoma, diabetes-related eye disease, and macular degeneration.
She earned her undergraduate degree at Lehigh University and completed medical school at Drexel University College of Medicine. Dr. Kancherla then completed ophthalmology residency training at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, followed by a cornea, external disease, and refractive surgery fellowship at the Johns Hopkins Wilmer Eye Institute. She has lectured nationally and presented at meetings hosted by organizations such as the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
