Dr. Steven Awner

Dr. Steven Awner is a pediatric ophthalmologist and eye surgeon at Eye Care & Vision Associates in Williamsville, New York. He treats a wide range of pediatric eye conditions including strabismus (crossed eyes), amblyopia (lazy eye), nystagmus, congenital ptosis, cataracts, glaucoma, retinopathy of prematurity, orbital tumors, and genetic and inherited vision disorders. Dr. Awner also manages neurologic conditions affecting vision and eye movements, such as optic neuritis and myasthenia gravis, and performs complex strabismus surgeries for both initial and repeat procedures.

Dr. Awner completed a fellowship in pediatric and neuro-ophthalmology at Duke University Eye Center and an ophthalmology residency at SUNY Buffalo. He serves as Director of Pediatric Ophthalmology at Oishei Children's Hospital and is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. Known for his calm, patient approach with children, Dr. Awner takes time to thoroughly explain conditions and treatment options to families.
