About Me
Stanford C. Taylor, MD, is a retina specialist focused on diagnosing and treating diseases of the vitreous and retina. He provides comprehensive medical and surgical care for conditions such as diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, retinal tears and detachments, epiretinal membranes, and macular holes. His visits emphasize clear explanations, collaborative decision-making, and careful postoperative follow-up, with a goal of preserving sight and returning patients to the activities they enjoy.Dr. Taylor earned his medical degree at Oregon Health & Science University and completed an ophthalmology residency at Washington University in St. Louis. He then pursued a vitreoretinal surgery fellowship at the Casey Eye Institute (Oregon Health & Science University). In addition to clinical care, he has participated in research and clinical trials, including work involving surgical delivery of gene therapies for inherited retinal diseases. At Retina Consultants of Southern Colorado, he partners with referring doctors to coordinate timely evaluations and ongoing care for patients with both routine and complex retinal conditions.
