About Me
Dr. Shawn Agee is a board-certified vitreoretinal surgeon who provides advanced retina care to patients in Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia. He treats a wide range of retinal conditions, including retinal detachments, macular holes, epiretinal membranes (macular puckers), and vitreous hemorrhages, and manages chronic diseases such as age-related macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy. His practice is equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostic technology to ensure accurate diagnoses and effective treatment plans.
A Florida native who grew up in Central Florida, Dr. Agee earned his medical degree from Florida State University College of Medicine and completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of Texas Southwestern. He then completed a high-volume surgical retina fellowship at the University of Alabama at Birmingham/Retina Consultants of Alabama, where he performed over 1,400 retinal surgeries. Dr. Agee is an active member of the American Society of Retina Specialists and the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and he collaborates closely with referring eye care providers to deliver seamless retina care.
Dr. Agee now lives in Jacksonville with his wife and is dedicated to providing the highest level of retina care to his community. Outside of his practice, he enjoys running, cooking, golfing, and photography.
