About Me
Dr. Tomas Moreno is a board-certified, fellowship-trained vitreoretinal specialist who provides personalized care for patients with retinal and macular disease. He treats conditions such as macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal tears, retinal detachment, and retinal vein occlusion, using the latest medical therapies and vitreoretinal surgical techniques to help protect and restore vision.
Dr. Moreno earned his Bachelor of Science degree and his medical degree from Duke University School of Medicine. He completed ophthalmology residency training at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and advanced vitreoretinal surgery fellowship training at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He has also served as an ophthalmologist with the Department of Veterans Affairs. Dr. Moreno joined Florida Retina Institute in August 2019 and is fluent in Spanish, with a focus on clear communication and compassionate, practical guidance for patients and families.
