About Me
Dr. Breno Da Rocha Lima was a medical retina and uveitis specialist who joined Bowden Eye in August 2013. He provided care for patients with age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and inflammatory eye diseases, performing intravitreal injections and laser treatments. Dr. Lima completed his ophthalmology residency at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation and held fellowships at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute and the National Eye Institute.
Born in Brazil, Dr. Lima attended medical school in Rio de Janeiro and Goiania and was a visiting student at the University of Miami. He also completed an internal medicine residency at the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Lima was a double fellow and served as a peer-reviewer for the American Journal of Ophthalmology and was a member of the Editorial Board of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
In November 2016, Dr. Lima began a battle with a life-threatening disease and stopped treating patients in December 2016. He passed away on May 24, 2017, and is remembered by the Bowden Eye family.
