About Me
Dr. Shashi Ganti is an American board-certified, fellowship-trained ophthalmologist specializing in retina and cornea conditions. His career has been dedicated to clinical research, beginning with work on continuous wave YAG laser for retinal photocoagulation, which advanced therapy for diabetic retinopathy. He was among the first to use intravitreal pharmaceutical agents for AIDS-related CMV retinitis.
He served as the sole retina specialist in Porterville, California, for over a decade, managing a large cohort of patients with diabetic retinopathy, cataracts, and neovascular glaucoma. Dr. Ganti has served as a principal investigator for the Diabetic Retinopathy Clinical Research network and is currently practicing in Fremont, focusing on complex retinal and corneal diseases.
Beyond clinical practice, Dr. Ganti participates in international medical missionary projects in Mexico, El Salvador, India, China, and other countries, providing surgical care and education. He is committed to delivering comprehensive eye care and improving vision health through innovation and global outreach.
