About Me
Dr. Sean Allison is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in retina and vitreous diseases, with over fifteen years of experience providing medical and surgical retina care. He is a second-generation ophthalmologist and third-generation physician, committed to serving patients along the Gulf Coast with compassionate, individualized, and state-of-the-art treatment.
Born and raised in Alabama, Dr. Allison completed his undergraduate education at the University of Alabama and earned his medical degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine. He further trained with an internship at Baptist Health Systems in Birmingham, followed by an ophthalmology residency and a fellowship in vitreoretinal surgery at The University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, where he served as Chief Resident.
Dr. Allison is a Fellow of the American Society of Retina Specialists and the American Academy of Ophthalmology, underscoring his dedication to high-quality retina care. His clinical focus includes age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, flashes and floaters, inherited retinal diseases, macular pucker and edema, retinal tears, holes, and detachment, retinal vein occlusion, retinopathy of prematurity, uveitis, and vitrectomy surgery. He employs advanced diagnostic and surgical techniques to help preserve and improve vision, with a patient-centered approach that emphasizes community-focused care.
