About Me
Dr. Ronald Hobbs is a board certified ophthalmologist who specializes in diseases and surgery of the retina and vitreous. His clinical and research interests include age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinopathy of prematurity, and vitreoretinal interface disorders. He is dedicated to providing the latest microsurgical treatments for retinal conditions.
Dr. Hobbs completed his medical education at Texas A&M College of Medicine, where he graduated with honors and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. He then pursued a transitional-year internship in Tucson, followed by an ophthalmology residency at the University of Oklahoma's Dean McGee Eye Institute, where he served as chief resident. His fellowship in vitreoretinal disease and surgery was completed at the University of Utah's Moran Eye Center, where he also worked as a clinical instructor.
He is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Phoenix Ophthalmological Society, and the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology. Dr. Hobbs is fluent in Spanish and enjoys spending time with his family and outdoor activities.
