About Me
Dr. Rolake Alabi is a board-certified ophthalmologist and fellowship-trained vitreoretinal surgeon at Austin Retina Associates. She provides comprehensive medical and surgical retina care for conditions such as diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, retinal detachment, and macular holes. Dr. Alabi completed her vitreoretinal surgery fellowship at Duke University Medical Center and her ophthalmology residency at the University of California, San Francisco. She also holds an MD and PhD from the Weill Cornell/Rockefeller/Sloan Kettering Tri-Institutional Program and undergraduate degrees from Yale University.
Dr. Alabi is passionate about translational research and community outreach, and she believes in a personalized, evidence-based approach to patient care. She aims to treat, educate, and empower her patients, ensuring each receives tailored attention. Her care philosophy is rooted in the privilege of positively impacting her patients’ lives and livelihoods.
Outside of her clinical work, Dr. Alabi enjoys traveling, photography, theater, and following Major League Baseball. She and her husband are excited to explore Austin’s vibrant culture and culinary scene. Dr. Alabi speaks conversational Spanish and some Yoruba, which helps her connect with a diverse patient population.
