About Me
Dr. Shelley Day Ghafoori is a board-certified ophthalmologist who specializes in the medical and surgical management of all vitreoretinal diseases, including ocular oncology. She treats conditions such as choroidal melanomas, retinal detachments, diabetic retinopathy, and other disorders of the retina and vitreous, using advanced surgical techniques and medical therapies.
Dr. Ghafoori received her medical degree from Harvard Medical School, completed her ophthalmology residency at the University of California, San Francisco, and a vitreoretinal surgery fellowship at Duke University. She also completed additional specialized training in ocular oncology at Moorfields and St. Bartholomew’s Hospitals in London. Dr. Ghafoori previously served as a clinical assistant professor of ophthalmology at Stanford University, where she was involved in patient care, teaching, and clinical research.
