About Me
Dr. Richard Carlin is a board-certified ophthalmologist and Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology with more than five decades of experience. A native of Highland Park, Illinois, he earned his medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in 1971 and completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of Michigan. He served in the United States Navy in Key West, Florida, before founding CarlinVision in Lawrenceville in 1977, relocating the practice to Snellville in 1980.
Dr. Carlin's professional interests include LASIK, cataract and refractive surgery, and cosmetic eyelid surgery. Throughout his career, he has performed more than 11,000 procedures and remains at the forefront of advanced laser and refractive technologies. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and a member of several leading professional organizations, including the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and the Georgia Society of Ophthalmology.
He provides comprehensive eye care, treating conditions such as glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, dry eye syndrome, and corneal disease. Dr. Carlin sees patients at his Snellville office.
