About Me
Dr. Omar M. Moinuddin is a board-certified, fellowship-trained ophthalmologist who cares for the full spectrum of medical and surgical retina conditions. He believes excellent outcomes start with listening, clear explanations, and evidence-based treatment tailored to each person’s vision goals. Originally from the Chicago area, Dr. Moinuddin completed his medical degree at Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine and went on to the University of Michigan’s W.K. Kellogg Eye Center for internship and ophthalmology residency, where he earned multiple recognitions for patient care and research. He then completed a vitreoretinal surgery fellowship at the renowned Associated Retinal Consultants/William Beaumont Hospital.
In clinic and the operating room, Dr. Moinuddin treats age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal vein occlusion, and complex macular disorders, and he performs advanced surgery for retinal detachments, macular holes, and epiretinal membranes. He also manages complications from prior cataract surgery, including removal of retained lens fragments and secondary intraocular lens implantation. Patients appreciate his calm, thorough approach and the time he takes to ensure they feel informed and supported at every step.
