Dr. C. Maxwell (Max) Medert is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in premium cataract surgery and refractive surgery. He also manages complex anterior segment problems, including intraocular lens (IOL) repositioning and exchange and pupilloplasty, and performs MIGS when appropriate. Dr. Medert earned a Biochemistry degree (summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa) from Miami University and a medical degree from Emory University School of Medicine. He completed ophthalmology residency at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute and a fellowship at Washington University in St. Louis. Before relocating, he served as an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Chicago.
