About Me

Dr. Muhammad Musab Shamim is a vitreoretinal surgeon and assistant professor of ophthalmology who treats medical and surgical diseases of the retina and vitreous. He earned his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine, completed ophthalmology residency at the Jones Eye Institute at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, and advanced fellowship training in vitreoretinal surgery at Northwestern Medicine.

Dr. Shamim cares for patients with age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachment, macular holes, epiretinal membranes, uveitis, and other complex retinal conditions. Depending on each case, he offers in-office treatments such as medicated intravitreal injections and laser therapy as well as operating-room procedures including pars plana vitrectomy and scleral buckling to restore or preserve sight.
