About Me
Dr. Ahmed A. Sallam is a uveitis and retina specialist at the UAMS Harvey & Bernice Jones Eye Institute. As Director of the Uveitis Service and an associate professor, he focuses on diagnosing and treating ocular inflammatory disease using the most up-to-date systemic and intraocular therapies. He also cares for surgical and medical diseases of the retina, including retinal detachment, macular disorders, diabetic retinopathy, and retinal vascular disease. Dr. Sallam partners closely with patients and referring physicians to coordinate care for conditions that often intersect with systemic autoimmune or infectious disease.
Dr. Sallam completed five years of advanced fellowship training in the UK, including uveitis/medical retina at Moorfields Eye Hospital and additional vitreoretinal surgery fellowships. He is board-certified through the Royal College of Ophthalmologists (FRCOphth) and previously served as a consultant ophthalmic surgeon in the UK. An active educator and researcher, he has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and presents regularly at national and international meetings.
