Dr. Michael Decourcey

Dr. Michael DeCourcey is an Ophthalmologist specializing in cataract, refractive, and anterior segment surgery. He is a native of Canandaigua, NY and graduated magna cum laude with distinction from Syracuse University. He completed his medical training at SUNY Upstate Medical University and his Ophthalmology residency at the University at Buffalo, where he was selected as Chief Resident. He then completed a refractive surgery fellowship at Cleveland Eye Clinic.

Dr. DeCourcey's extensive training makes him an expert in the medical and surgical treatment of poor vision due to cataracts, glaucoma, and refractive error. He is experienced in the full spectrum of laser eye surgery including LALEX, LASIK, and PRK. He also offers other lens-based methods of vision correction including Implantable Collamer Lens (EVO ICL), Custom Lens Replacement, and advanced cataract surgery. He is well-versed in the medical and surgical management of glaucoma.

Dr. DeCourcey has received many awards and honors and has presented his research at national conferences. He strives to connect with each patient, listen to them, and understand their vision goals. He personally understands the struggles of poor vision, having previously been dependent on glasses and contacts.
