About Me
Dr. Abdallah Mahrous is a board-certified ophthalmologist who specializes in medical and surgical care of the retina and vitreous. As an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at Weill Cornell Medicine and an attending at NewYork-Presbyterian, he treats conditions such as diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, retinal tears and detachments, epiretinal membranes, macular holes, retinal vein occlusions, and dislocated lenses. He aims to provide thoughtful, individualized care, explaining options clearly and partnering with each patient on a treatment plan that matches their goals and lifestyle.
Dr. Mahrous completed his ophthalmology residency at Weill Cornell Medicine/NewYork-Presbyterian, where he served as chief resident and received the Distinguished House Staff Award. He then completed a two-year vitreoretinal surgery fellowship at the same institutions. He graduated with honors from Weill Cornell Medical College–Qatar and remains active in clinical research and education.
