About Me
Dr. Melanie Bennett-Sims is an ophthalmologist with specialized training in cornea and external eye diseases, including a focus on dry eye disease. She completed a cornea fellowship at the Johns Hopkins Wilmer Eye Institute, which enhanced her comprehensive ophthalmology training. Her advanced skills allow her to manage a variety of corneal conditions.
Dr. Bennett-Sims is a diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology and holds certifications as a cornea specialist and from an accredited dry eye center. She is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, which helps her stay current with advancements in vision care techniques.
Her goal is to provide excellent healthcare to a diverse population while also serving as a mentor and role model. She has conducted research on intraocular lens calculations, DSEK outcomes, and the morphology of the eye lens.
