Dr. Mark Paauw

Dr. Mark Paauw is an ophthalmologist who provides comprehensive cataract and glaucoma care with a calm, team-oriented approach. He enjoys partnering with patients to explain diagnoses in plain language, outline options, and tailor treatment plans to fit daily life. His clinical interests include both traditional and minimally invasive procedures to lower eye pressure and protect vision, as well as modern lens technologies to optimize clarity after cataract surgery. Patients appreciate his focus on long-term relationships, steady follow-up, and attention to how eye health affects activities that matter—reading, driving, and getting back to work or hobbies.

Dr. Paauw completed medical school at Michigan State University College of Human Medicine, an internship at Spectrum Health Hospital, ophthalmology residency at the Kresge Eye Institute of Wayne State University, and a glaucoma fellowship at Florida Eye Specialists. He is particularly interested in Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgery (MIGS) and tube shunt procedures when appropriate, and he also performs laser-assisted and advanced-technology lens cataract surgery. Outside the clinic, he enjoys time outdoors with his family and brings that same grounded, practical mindset to every visit.
