About Me
Marcela M. Estrada, MD, is a pediatric ophthalmologist and adult strabismus specialist who cares for children and adults with eye alignment disorders, vision development problems, and complex pediatric eye disease. She partners closely with families to explain diagnoses in clear, practical terms and to design treatment plans that match each patient’s needs—whether that’s glasses, patching, medications, or surgery. As a physician and mother, she believes that optimizing the health of your child’s eyes begins by establishing a warm and supportive relationship with you. She pledges to care for your child as if they were her own.
Dr. Estrada provides medical and surgical care for a wide range of congenital and acquired eye and vision problems, including strabismus, nystagmus, amblyopia, tearing problems, eyelid inflammation, and congenital ocular abnormalities. She has special clinical interest in congenital and juvenile cataracts, retinopathy of prematurity, and pediatric uveitis. Her research focuses on retinopathy of prematurity treatment and reducing ocular health disparities in underserved, low-income, and minority pediatric populations. She is passionate about training the next generation of ophthalmologists and is an active member of the American Association of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus, where she serves on the Young Ophthalmologist Committee.
