About Me
Dr. Kiersten R. Snyder is a board-certified, fellowship-trained ophthalmologist specializing in glaucoma, cataracts, and complex anterior segment surgery. She provides the full spectrum of glaucoma care—from medical management to minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS), trabeculectomy, and tube shunt procedures—and performs modern cataract surgery with a steady, patient-first approach. Patients appreciate her clear explanations and thoughtful guidance when weighing options for safety, vision, and recovery.
Dr. Snyder received a master’s degree in biomedical imaging from UC San Francisco and earned her medical degree from The George Washington University School of Medicine. She completed an internal medicine preliminary year at Highland Hospital in Oakland, followed by ophthalmology residency at New York Medical College. She then completed glaucoma fellowship training at Minnesota Eye Consultants with mentorship from leaders in the field. Her scholarly work spans clinical trials and advanced ophthalmic imaging, with presentations at ARVO, AAO, and ASCRS. A Sacramento native, she is excited to care for patients in her hometown.
