About Me
Jacob W. Brubaker, MD received his medical degree from McGill University. He went on to complete an internship in Internal Medicine at the University of Utah and his ophthalmology residency at the University of Missouri. He completed two fellowships, one in ophthalmic pathology at the University of Utah and his glaucoma fellowship at the Dean McGee Eye Institute, University of Oklahoma.
He chose the specialty of glaucoma because of the complexity of the disease and the challenge it presents. He is fascinated with the technological advancements made in recent years and being deeply involved in clinical research, which have made glaucoma treatment and outcomes increasingly more rewarding. So far in his career, he has served as principle investigator on many FDA studies, including many glaucoma approved devices and medications that have greatly advanced the care of glaucoma patients. Some of these include Hydrus, iStent, iDose, Rhopressa, Rocklatan, Durysta, among many others. Not only has Dr. Brubaker participated in several studies he also has an extensive list of publications, presentations, and awards for his research.
Dr. Brubaker has participated in ophthalmology medical missions to Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Senegal, and Ghana, Africa, and has also volunteered in Quebec, Canada, for 2 years. He finds fulfillment when he can offer assistance to people who suffer from challenging circumstances. Along with his wonderful work outside of the United States, Dr. Brubaker continues to be involved in leadership of National Ophthalmology Societies and presents regularly at national meetings.
