About Me
Dr. Frank Cao is an ophthalmologist who specializes in glaucoma at Kaiser Permanente in Stockton. He was raised by two doctors and views medicine as a commitment and a calling. Dr. Cao chose Kaiser Permanente for its integrated, patient-centered model of care, which allows him to focus on delivering high-quality health care.
In ophthalmology, Dr. Cao enjoys the dual role of being both a medical doctor and a surgeon, and he finds it extremely satisfying to help patients preserve their vision. He has a particular interest in treating glaucoma, utilizing both traditional and newer less invasive treatments. Dr. Cao believes in a partnership model of care, where he and the patient decide together on treatment options that optimize quality of life and vision, while also providing his expert recommendations.
Dr. Cao is the primary glaucoma specialist in Stockton and is experienced in a range of procedures including lasers, stents, shunts, filters, and medications. He also leads diabetic eye screening efforts in the Central Valley. In addition to English, he speaks Mandarin Chinese.
