About Me
Dr. Khurram Chaudhary is a board-certified ophthalmologist and vitreoretinal surgeon with nearly 15 years of experience. He specializes in treating potentially blinding conditions of the retina and macula, including retinal detachment, diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, and retinal vascular occlusions. Dr. Chaudhary takes a patient-centered approach, listening closely to each individual and treating them with the respect he would afford a family member. He believes in the profound impact that restoring or preserving vision can have on a patient's quality of life.
Dr. Chaudhary is also involved in advanced retinal surgical techniques and has a particular interest in retinal prosthetic implants, such as the Argus Retinal Prosthesis, to help patients with severe vision loss. He finds the combination of technology and physiology in vitreoretinal surgery deeply rewarding and is dedicated to the meticulous care required for retinal diseases. He serves as a Clinical Associate Professor at Stony Brook Medicine.
He completed his medical education at Georgetown University School of Medicine and returned to Long Island for his residency and fellowship training. Dr. Chaudhary is proud to serve the Long Island community where he grew up and now raises his own family.
