Meet Dr. Albert Li
About Me
Dr. Albert S. Li is a board-certified ophthalmologist and fellowship-trained medical and surgical retina specialist. He currently serves as a Clinical Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell, where he contributes to the education of future eye care professionals.
Dr. Li graduated magna cum laude with highest honors in Chemical and Physical Biology from Harvard College, where he was awarded the Thomas Temple Hoopes Prize for outstanding undergraduate research. He earned his medical degree from New York University School of Medicine and completed his ophthalmology residency at Hofstra Northwell School of Medicine, serving as chief resident. His vitreoretinal fellowship was completed at Barnes-Jewish Hospital and Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Li is actively involved in clinical research on retinal diseases and participates in multicenter trials for novel therapies. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Retina Specialists, and he has received honors such as the ASRS Honor Award and recognition as a Castle Connolly Top Doctor. Dr. Li speaks Mandarin Chinese and Spanish, enhancing his ability to serve diverse patient populations.
