Kathleen Kwedar, MD, is an ophthalmologist at Sabates Eye Centers who focuses on diseases and surgery of the vitreous and retina as well as cataracts. She cares for patients with age-related macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease, retinal tears and detachments, and other conditions that threaten central and peripheral vision. Dr. Kwedar emphasizes clear communication and collaborative decision-making, helping patients understand imaging results, treatment options, and what to expect before and after procedures such as intravitreal injections, laser therapy, or cataract surgery. Dr. Kwedar earned her medical degree from the University of Missouri, completed ophthalmology residency at University of Missouri Hospitals & Clinics, and pursued a fellowship in vitreo-retinal diseases and surgery at the University of Missouri–Kansas City.
