About Me

Dr. Karen Hu is a cornea, external disease, and refractive surgeon who provides thoughtful, individualized care for patients with complex surface disease and cataracts. She explains findings in clear, everyday language and outlines options—from dry eye therapies to corneal transplantation—so people can choose a path that fits their needs and routines. She also performs cataract surgery and discusses lens choices and recovery timelines with each patient. Dr. Hu earned her medical degree at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, completed ophthalmology residency at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai, and pursued a cornea, external disease, and refractive surgery fellowship at the University of Illinois Eye & Ear Infirmary.
