About Me
Dr. Jonathan Kaufman is a board-certified, fellowship-trained ophthalmologist specializing in cornea, cataract, and refractive surgery. He provides comprehensive eye care with expertise in conditions such as dry eye, blepharitis, keratoconus, corneal dystrophies, and pterygium. His surgical skills include LASIK, PRK, cataract surgery, corneal transplantation, and pterygium removal, helping patients achieve better vision and reduce dependence on glasses.
As the medical director and CEO of Kaufman Eye Institute, Dr. Kaufman leads a team committed to advanced eye care using the latest techniques. He completed his ophthalmology residency at Texas Tech, where he was elected chief resident, followed by a fellowship in cornea, cataract, and refractive surgery at Weill Cornell Medical Center. His medical training was at Rush Medical College, and he graduated with honors from the University of Michigan with a degree in cellular and molecular biology.
Dr. Kaufman is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons and the Cornea Society. A Floridian who grew up in Tampa, he is dedicated to serving the community with compassionate, patient-centered care.
