About Me

Dr. Craig Berger is a board-certified ophthalmologist and cornea specialist who founded the Bay Area Eye Institute in Tampa in 2007. He specializes in treating dry eye disease, cataracts, and corneal conditions, offering advanced surgical options such as cornea transplant surgery and refractive procedures like LASIK and PRK.

With fellowship training in cornea and refractive surgery, Dr. Berger has been involved in pioneering clinical studies, including early wavefront-guided laser surgery and the use of Restasis for dry eye. He previously served as a full-time assistant professor at the University of South Florida Eye Institute, where he taught cataract, pterygium, and corneal transplant surgery to other physicians.

Dr. He also provides care for veterans at the James A Haley VA Hospital and collaborates closely with local optometrists to support comprehensive eye education and treatment in the Tampa Bay area.
