About Me
John W. Anderson, MD, is a Texas-trained general ophthalmologist and the founder of Anderson Eye in Houston. He provides comprehensive medical and surgical eye care with a friendly, small-practice feel, seeing patients of all ages from children to grandparents. Dr. Anderson emphasizes clear communication, careful surgical planning, and a personalized approach to help each patient achieve their best possible vision.
A Houstonian since high school, Dr. Anderson graduated magna cum laude in Biology from Texas Christian University before earning his medical degree at The University of Texas Medical School at Houston. He completed his ophthalmology residency at UT Houston, training across Memorial Hermann–Texas Medical Center, LBJ Hospital, MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston Methodist, St. Luke’s, and St. Joseph Medical Center. He performs cataract and other ophthalmic procedures and manages a wide range of eye conditions for patients throughout the Houston area.
