About Me

Dr. John Wang is a board-certified, fellowship-trained ophthalmologist and the founder of Solon Eye Care and Surgery. He provides comprehensive eye care for patients of all ages, from routine eye exams to medical and surgical management of complex eye diseases. Dr. Wang completed dual bachelor’s degrees in biology and applied mathematics at Emory University before earning his medical degree from Case Western Reserve University. He went on to a preliminary medicine year at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center, followed by ophthalmology residency training at Case Western Reserve University. He then completed a pediatric ophthalmology fellowship at Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital, gaining expertise in caring for children with a wide range of eye conditions. Dr. Wang treats cataracts, glaucoma, diabetic eye disease, macular degeneration, dry eye, floaters, and urgent eye problems, as well as amblyopia and strabismus in children. He focuses on clear communication, up-to-date technology, and personalized treatment plans so patients and families feel informed and supported at every visit.
