Dr. John Gooch

Dr. John Gooch is a board-certified ophthalmologist at St. Luke's at The Villages, specializing in comprehensive ophthalmology. He diagnoses and treats a range of eye conditions including cataracts, glaucoma, retinal conditions, and cornea diseases, and also provides routine eye exams and eyeglass prescriptions. With over 20 years in practice, he brings extensive experience to his patients.

Dr. Gooch earned his medical degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine and completed his ophthalmology residency at Wilford Hall US Air Force Medical Center, where he served as chief resident. He previously served 28 years in the US Air Force, holding leadership roles including Chief of Aerospace Ophthalmology, and retired from active duty at the rank of Colonel in 2014. He joined St. Luke's at The Villages in 2016.
