About Me
Dr. Jay (Jihad) Isteitiya is a cornea and refractive surgeon with extensive international training and a focus on advanced techniques that help patients recover clear, comfortable vision. He earned his medical degree at the Jordan University of Science and Technology and completed specialized ophthalmology training at Ibn Al-Haytham Hospital in Amman before fellowship training in cornea and refractive surgery at the University of Louisville and the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
Dr. Isteitiya’s surgical expertise includes endothelial and lamellar keratoplasty, femtosecond laser–assisted cataract surgery, and laser vision correction such as LASIK, PRK, and PTK; he also performs Intacs and offers micro-invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS) when appropriate. He has contributed to resident education at UT Health San Antonio and remains active in professional societies dedicated to cataract, refractive, and corneal care.
