About Me
Dr. Jessica Chen is a board-certified ophthalmologist who joined the Palo Alto Eye Group in 2012. She specializes in glaucoma, cataract, and anterior segment surgery, with extensive experience in complex procedures. Her expertise includes minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS) and premium intraocular lens implants for conditions like presbyopia and astigmatism.
Dr. Chen completed her medical education at the University of California, Los Angeles David Geffen School of Medicine, where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honors society. She earned her bachelor's degree in Integrative Biology from the University of California, Berkeley. For her ophthalmology residency, she trained at the University of Washington, followed by a glaucoma fellowship at the renowned Bascom Palmer Eye Institute.
Beyond clinical practice, Dr. Chen is fluent in medical Spanish and has participated in several international medical missions to Mexico and Ecuador. She is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Glaucoma Society.
