About Me
Dr. Jess Boysen is a board-certified, fellowship-trained glaucoma specialist at Southdale Eye Clinic. He manages all aspects of glaucoma, including medical and laser treatments, as well as surgical options like trabeculectomy, tube shunts, and minimally invasive glaucoma surgery. Dr. Boysen also performs cataract surgery, aiming to improve patients' vision and quality of life.
Having grown up in the Midwest, Dr. Boysen graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Iowa State University and earned his medical degree at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, where he also completed his ophthalmology residency and a glaucoma fellowship. He has taught glaucoma surgery techniques in Ghana and has been involved in resident education at the University of Nebraska and the VA Medical Center.
Dr. Boysen currently serves as an adjunct assistant professor of ophthalmology at the University of Minnesota and is a faculty member at Hennepin County Medical Center, where he supervises resident glaucoma clinics and surgeries at the Phillips Eye Institute.
