Meet Dr. Christine Larsen
About Me
Dr. Christine Larsen is a glaucoma and cataract specialist at Minnesota Eye Consultants. She has a particular interest in the long-term management of glaucoma, noting that the chronic nature of the condition allows her to build lasting relationships with her patients. Dr. Larsen serves as the medical director for the practice’s five ancillary surgery centers and holds an adjunct clinical faculty appointment at the University of Minnesota, where she works with residents at the Minneapolis VA and Hennepin County Medical Center.
Originally from Nebraska, Dr. Larsen completed her undergraduate degree at Nebraska Wesleyan University and earned her medical degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center. She then completed her ophthalmology residency at the same institution, serving as Chief Resident and receiving the Outstanding Resident Research Award. Her fellowship in glaucoma was completed at the University of Wisconsin in Madison.
Dr. Larsen is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Glaucoma Society, and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. She has published peer-reviewed articles and book chapters, and she participates in medical mission work both domestically and internationally. Dr. Larsen is also involved in clinical research, having served as principal investigator for several US clinical trials, and she has a dedicated interest in health policy advocacy.
