About Me
Dr. Jason Matthew Lewis Miller is a retina specialist who cares for patients with complex macular and retinal conditions, with a particular focus on dry age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and other macular diseases. His clinical expertise includes inherited macular degenerations, central serous choroidopathy, macular telangiectasia, cystoid macular edema, diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachment, and inflammatory eye disease such as uveitis.
Dr. Miller’s research centers on the genetics of macular disease and on developing imaging biomarkers to improve diagnosis and care. He earned a biology degree from Stanford University and completed MD and PhD graduate work at the University of California, San Francisco. His training includes an internal medicine internship at Kaiser Permanente Oakland, ophthalmology residency at the University of Michigan’s Kellogg Eye Center, and medical retina and research fellowship training at Kellogg Eye Center. He joined the University of Michigan faculty in 2021.
