Dr. Ishrat Ahmed

Bo Wang, MD, PhD, is an assistant professor of ophthalmology with the Wilmer Eye Institute, Johns Hopkins Medicine. He specializes in pediatric ophthalmology with particular interest in pediatric glaucoma and cataract, strabismus, and retinopathy of prematurity. Dr. Wang earned his MD from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and his PhD in Bioengineering from the University of Pittsburgh. He completed ophthalmology residency at the Wilmer Eye Institute and a fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology and adult strabismus at the Duke Eye Center. Dr. Wang blends compassionate, child-friendly care with evidence-based decision-making and advanced imaging. His research leverages optical coherence tomography to study outflow pathway changes that contribute to pediatric glaucoma, with the goal of improving diagnosis and therapy. He sees patients at Wilmer’s East Baltimore and Green Spring Station locations and enjoys working closely with families to craft care plans that support both vision and development.

Dr. Luke Chang is a glaucoma and cataract surgeon who focuses on preserving sight with the least disruption to patients' lives. He offers the full spectrum of modern glaucoma care—from medications and laser to minimally invasive and traditional surgeries—and tailors cataract surgery to each person's visual goals. Dr. Chang earned his medical degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, completed ophthalmology residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, and a glaucoma fellowship at UT Southwestern. Dr. Mira Menon Sachdeva is a retina specialist at the Johns Hopkins Wilmer Eye Institute who treats diseases of the retina and vitreous with both medical and surgical care. She cares for patients with diabetic retinopathy and macular edema, age-related macular degeneration, retinal vascular occlusions, retinal detachment, macular holes and epiretinal membranes. Dr. Sachdeva is also a physician-scientist focused on developing new strategies to prevent or reverse retinal neurodegeneration and vision loss, particularly in people with diabetes. Her goal is to translate advances in neuroprotection into better long-term outcomes for patients with retinal disease. She earned her MD and PhD at the University of Pennsylvania, completed ophthalmology residency at Johns Hopkins, and pursued vitreoretinal surgery fellowship training at Massachusetts General Hospital. In clinic, she emphasizes careful monitoring, clear explanations, and individualized treatment plans that may include imaging, injections, laser therapy or retinal surgery depending on each patient’s needs.
