Dr. Howard Chen

Dr. Howard Chen is a board-certified ophthalmologist and the founding ophthalmologist of Goodyear Eye Specialists in Goodyear, Arizona. He provides comprehensive eye care and surgical services to patients in Goodyear, Buckeye, Avondale, and the surrounding Phoenix area.

Dr. Chen earned his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine after graduating Phi Beta Kappa and magna cum laude from Duke University. He completed his ophthalmology residency at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine Department of Ophthalmology in New York and specialized with a medical retina fellowship at the University of Toronto. He is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.

Dr. Chen has a commitment to serving diverse communities, having practiced at the Phoenix Indian Hospital, traveled to Native American reservations throughout Arizona, and performed charity cataract surgeries in Peru and Ghana. He focuses on cataract surgery, glaucoma, pterygium, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and dry eye conditions, offering quality vision care and eye surgery services.
