About Me
Dr. Hong-Gam Le is a board-certified ophthalmologist and fellowship-trained retina specialist at the Retina Institute of Illinois. She evaluates and treats the full spectrum of medical and surgical retinal disease, including age-related macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease, epiretinal membrane, macular hole, retinal tears and detachments, retinal vascular occlusions, uveitis, and complications after cataract surgery. Care plans may include intravitreal injections, laser photocoagulation, cryotherapy, and advanced vitrectomy techniques tailored to each case. Dr. Le is fluent in English and Vietnamese.
Dr. Le studied Neurobiology at Harvard University, graduating with honors, and earned her MD with Distinction in Research from the University of Michigan Medical School. She completed ophthalmology residency at Northwestern University and a two-year vitreoretinal surgery fellowship at the University of Utah’s Moran Eye Center.
