About Me

Dr. Greg Budoff is a vitreoretinal surgeon who treats the full spectrum of retinal disease—from urgent issues like retinal detachment and vitreous hemorrhage to chronic conditions such as macular degeneration and diabetic eye disease. Patients describe his care as thorough and unhurried, with clear explanations of imaging and a plan that fits their goals and timeline. He also has a particular interest in complex retinal detachment repair and secondary IOL surgeries.

Dr. Budoff completed a two-year fellowship in vitreoretinal surgery and medical retina at the UCLA – Jules Stein Eye Institute after ophthalmology residency at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, where he was selected chief resident. He earned his MD at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and his undergraduate degree at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. He offers evidence-based treatment and close follow-up to help patients understand choices such as injections, laser, or surgery and what recovery typically requires.
